Better head into work now to check on the ants... they're really adorable with little pink markings on their backs, which I do to keep track of who's who in my experiment. Marking ants with paint isn't easy--the first time I ended up with paint splattered on my shirt, hands, face and glasses. Maybe today I'll get more paint on the ants than on myself!

Ascension Day
Today is a religious holiday in Austria (one of many!) so we stayed home this morning. Nick washed his bike in the parking lot in front of the apartment building with his good friend Itaru, who bought a bucket at the store yesterday just for the occasion. Meanwhile, I cleaned up a bit in the house and opened all the windows to air out the place since it's hot and muggy these days. It's much nicer now! As a reward, we then watched the first half of yesterday's Red Sox/White Sox game on MLB TV.com. I guess it's a good thing we turned it off when we did, because at that point the Red Sox were still up. It reminded me to buy tickets for a game on August 1st when we'll be in Chicago visiting Nick's dad! White Sox/Yankees... Don't know yet who I'll be cheering for. Maybe just Omar Vizquel and Derek Jeter.
